Dorm Room Furniture
Let’s be honest – dorm rooms are extremely small, and fitting any reasonably-sized furniture in them is going to be pretty tough. Unless you have a giant common area between two dorm rooms, you won’t be fitting any sectional couches or massive bookcases in there. Luckily, there is a niche of furniture that is great at fitting in small spaces – corner furniture.
Corner furniture is the furniture that fits perfectly in the corner of a room, taking up very little space. Corner furniture designs show us that it is the most space-efficient furniture out there. Since we are trying to find stuff to fit in the extremely tight space known as a dorm room, this is great news.
One of the best pieces of furniture to put in a dorm room (if it doesn’t already come with one) is a kids corner desk. A kids desk is best because it is a bit smaller than the regular corner desk, ensuring that it will fit in a dorm room. Even though it has the word “kids” in it, the desk is still big enough for a 18-21 year old kid to sit at. There is still room for a laptop and monitor, and space to store all the school essentials.
Another thing to consider getting is a nice bookshelf for the room. If you are bringing your book collection to school, then a bookshelf is the perfect item to own. It also comes in handy because it can be used to store textbooks on it by both you and your roommate.
Regular corner furniture like a sofa, while it is extremely space-efficient, still will probably not fit in a dorm room. You have no idea how small they are until you live in one. They seriously are smaller than some people’s closets, and you have two people living in them side by side! If you are unsure of if something will fit, measure the space available before buying. It is the smart, time-saving thing to do.
