Pine is a relatively soft wood which is normally less expensive and weight less than a hard wood desk made from maple or oak etc. A pine desk is a better choice than going for a particle board desk, they are high quality in comparison.

Any good furniture store will have a vast selection of writing desks available to view. As the name suggests a writing desk is made for writing, well duh! But they do have other benefits. They can come with a whole load of storage options, great not only for your writing materials but for your other paper work, birth certificates, insurance details etc. They can come in all sizes, no matter what size the room its going in there is one that will be the right proportions for it.
When searching for a new desk there are countless places you can buy from, today the most popular option is to shop online, the prices tend to be better and there is a great selection, all from the comfort of your own home. Don’t write off the stores though, they will have some gems in there waiting to be discovered.
