Wood Backless Bar Stools Stay Popular
The backless bar stools are currently a widely used furniture piece all over America. They are a staple one in the corner bars, but they are equally popular in various kinds of eateries, including diners, lunch counters and soda fountains.
People often like to add wood backless bar stools or swivel backless bar stools in their home to add a fancy element to the décor. The trend originated in 1950s when people started to adorn their TV or recreational rooms with backless bar stools.
It is not uncommon either to see families using these bar stools for their kitchen table. This endows the dining area with a feeling of informality, ideal to sit and chat with friends or neighbors. The backless tools are particular favorites for areas like the den or the game room, the so called man areas.
Young people staying in the smaller loft apartments started using bar stools there to add a fun and trendy element from the 1970s.
This trend then gradually spread to bigger homes in the 80s. Especially in the ranch houses, the recreational rooms moved in the basement, a kind of secret place for fun and enjoyment. These rooms more often than not included small bars and backless bar stools were an indispensable piece of furniture there. It was also the time when leather backless bar stools and black backless bar stools came into style.
In recent years, people generally like to add a small breakfast counter or bar inside their kitchens. These counters work well as a place to eat quick meals like snacks or breakfasts and can also double up as a place for informal friendly chats or small talks.
There are however a couple of disadvantages regarding these bar stools. One is that backless chairs are not always very comfortable and further, these stools can be a bit high for comfort for kids and shorter women and men.
